Why?
When you catch yourself asking “Why?”
Why do I
Keep overeating
Avoid doing what I said I would do
Eat when I'm not hungry
Keep yelling at my kids
Getting angry at my husband
… and so on….
Ask “Why not?”
Why do I NOT want to do these things.
I do NOT want to overeat because I want to lose weight and fit into my size 10 jeans.
I do NOT want to avoid doing the things I say I will do because I want to be a trustworthy person, to others and to myself.
I do NOT want to eat when I'm not hungry because I want to listen to my body for the guidance on what and how much I eat.
I do NOT want to yell at my kids because I want peace in my home and I don't want to feel bad.
I do NOT want to get angry at my husband so much because I want to feel more connection with him.
……
Remind yourself WHO you and to BE and what you want to DO in those same situations.
Practice reminding yourself of your “why nots”.
What are your “Why Nots”?
