Releasing Excess

One of the things that I have been writing in my morning journaling lately is,

“I enjoy the process of releasing excess.”

Then, I will list out what comes to mind as the excess that I am wanting to release. Of course, weight is always at the top of the list and then it goes something like…

  • Weight

  • Debt

  • Stuff

  • Obligations

Some other things that could be added to the list are:

  • Social media accounts that don’t encourage, teach or bring joy

  • Relationships that drain me

  • Wasted time doing pointless activities

The point in writing this statement out

on the regular is to:

  1. Remind myself that the goal is to release the excess

  2. Tell myself that I enjoy the process, so that I do, in fact enjoy the process (our thoughts create our feelings and “enjoy” is a feeling)

  3. Solidify my commitment to enjoy the things that I do on the regular to create the life I want to live.

Our beliefs are thoughts that we think on repeat and believe on purpose or by default. I want my beliefs to be deliberate to enable me to live my life on purpose to be the person God created me to be.

What excess in your life is holding you back from being the person you want to be?

How could it be enjoyable to begin to release that excess to reveal you to yourself and the world?

I love to help women (and teen girls) to prioritize themselves to honor God, serve others and live a life they love.
