More Generosity… Less Scarcity
When we are in a scarcity mindset, we want to protect what we have for fear of going without. Fear is the basis for being in this mindset. The Bible tells us that “perfect love drives out fear”. When we are walking in the knowledge of God’s love, fear doesn’t drive us anymore.
Scarcity can show up, not just in our stuff and finances. It can show up in our words too.
Do you ever find yourself holding back words from others because you have jealousy or feeling competitive toward them?
Being generous with your kind words will bless others and you.
Celebrate the wins of others. When you think a kind thought about someone else, say it out loud to them. It might be as simple as complimenting their hair or outfit. Don’t hold back those kind words. You never know how badly someone needs them at that moment.
It is so simple.
Where can you see that you have been living in scarcity, rather than generosity in your life?
It doesn’t require a huge change.
Look for opportunities to be generous with your time, money, belongings, or just your words.
You just never know the difference it could make for someone.
You may be surprised in he difference it makes for you too!
Pray:
God, show me the areas in my life that I am holding onto things out of scarcity, out of fear. Show me where I can be more generous with my resources or just my words. I don’t want fear to drive my actions. I want my actions to be motivated by love.
Amen.
